As a Plant Accountant, Manufacturing, you are responsible for applying acceptable accounting principles and procedures for the plant as well as inventory cycle counts, data entry and organization of paperwork.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with a minimum of 2 years of related accounting experience. Experience working with inventory and inventory management systems preferred. Experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate, receive, and transfer written, oral, and electronic information effectively. Computer skills including the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to work a forklift including but not limited to unloading inbound packaging materials, moving packaging materials and other general warehouse tasks assigned. Ability to work under stressful conditions with multiple deadlines. Attention to detail and be a self-starter. Previous experience or working knowledge of warehouse scanners or other applicable technology.

Working Conditions: 15% interaction in warehouse/freezer environment. Fast paced warehouse environment, working in and around machinery and moving vehicles. The noise level is moderate to loud and the temperature in the processing area is below 50 degrees. The cold storage warehouse averages a temperature of -5 degrees.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. Ability to wear required safety clothing and equipment. Ability to hear in a moderate to noisy working environment and respond accordingly.

Job Requirements:

  • Prepare for review and process approved journal entries into the accounting system
  • Review, reconcile and analyzing accounts payable vendor accounts
  • Review, code and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system
  • Review, analyze, submit for approval and process expense reports verifying charges to the Corporate charge account(s)
  • Reconcile petty cash and the Corporate credit card statements
  • Receive sales order and enter into the Inventory Management System
  • Enter receipts into the inventory management systems
  • Review Purchase orders and acknowledgements for accuracy
  • Review receiving paperwork for any discrepancies and assist with inbound process as needed
  • Organize and conduct inventory cycle counts of the ingredient, finished product and packaging materials
  • Investigate and document inventory discrepancies
  • Assist with production data entry into inventory management system
  • Work with Plant Controller and Inventory Analyst to locate and disposal of obsolete inventory
  • Perform all the duties listed by adhering to company standards of GMP and Food Safety policies
  • Keeps area clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Comply with OSHA Standards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
