The Staff Accountant position will be working at our new office in Hingham, MA, located near the beautiful shipyard. If you live in Boston, you have the options of driving (around 45 minutes) or taking the MBTA Commuter Boat Service (around 20 minutes) to the work location.

The perfect candidate is someone looking to gain Accounting and Finance experience in a fast-paced business environment. You will be working directly with the Controller and CFO, contribute to the organization’s broader mission, and there are opportunities for you to learn and grow within the company.


  • Support the Controller and CFO with various projects as assigned
  • Cross train in all areas of the department including AR, AP & budgeting
  • Compile and analyze account information to prepare and record asset, liability, and revenue entries
  • Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations such as: bank recollections, accounts payable and receivable reconciliations, and depletion reconciliations
  • Prepare client financial statement packages
  • Assist in month and year-end audit deliverables, including but not limited to: scanning audit support, coordinating and providing information to audit staff
  • Preparation of special ad-hoc reports for accountants and clients
  • Monitor accounting controls and procedures in accordance to GAAP
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 1+ years of professional experience (Accounting or Finance preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to learn and use new technology and system
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and attention to details
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Coach-ability and eagerness to learn
  • Sound work ethic and organization skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task within a growing company
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
