The Helicopter Engines Project Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Sr. Project Engineer lead development of key components for a new growth turboshaft engine. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the interest, aptitude, and experience associated with the design, development, and test of gas turbine engines for defense applications. The successful candidate will direct the cross-functional team including design and laboratory personnel to design, fabricate, and test key engine components for the new engine within schedule and budgetary constraints. Desired experience includes engine design and test execution, including demonstrated success at project planning, scope development, budgetary control, and schedule execution.
Lead design activity from concept design through detailed design and drawing release to achieve all technical requirements.
Broad span of control 5-10 equivalent full time engineers (indirect)
Conduct risk management for proposed technical approach, define risk mitigation plans, and execute technology maturity plans where required.Conduct risk reduction and official verification rig test activities
Generate overall development plan for the component to meet program objectives
Cost Account Manager for all activities
Estimate and manage component budget s ; total annual budget of approximately $2M
Review, manage and report on Earned Value
Define schedule and manage milestones
Acquire all necessary hardware including vendor interface as required
Lead requirements verification activity to demonstrate compliance to component requirements
