Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced instructor to teach high school students the fundamentals of video game design and coding using the Scratch platform (www.mit.scratch.edu). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and a genuine interest in educating and inspiring young minds.
Responsibilities:
- Teach students the principles of game design, including storyboarding, character development, and game mechanics.
- Guide students through hands-on projects to create their own video games.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students to help them improve their coding skills and creativity.
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
- Experience with the Scratch platform and a strong understanding of coding principles.
- Previous teaching experience, particularly with Middle School or high school students, is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students in the learning process.
- A passion for video games and a desire to share that passion with students.
