The Infection Control Officer/Performance Improvement Specialist, assists the Infection Control Director with the implementation and daily function of the infection prevention and control program by providing education, data generation, and analysis of key quality indicators. This role also serves as the healthcare quality and patient safety subject matter expert and resource by supporting a data driven, performance improvement effort aimed to support quality, performance improvement and patient safety initiatives to achieve top decile performance for quality indicators. Population served based on scope of services in the department.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Acute Care nursing.
License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
- MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point, Presentation skills.
- Registered Nurse (RN) License (NY or CT, as required).
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control within 3 years of hire.
