As our organization continues to grow, we are looking for a Director of Accounting Shared Services who is a strong leader with expert communication skills and can evaluate the effectiveness of teams. This position leads the organization’s transactional accounting activities which include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, DMS, Vehicle Inventory and Cash Management. This position will lead the shared services team towards best practice in the industry to ensure transactions are accounted for in a timely fashion, with uncompromised quality, and in accordance with GAAP. The Director will ensure these accounting shared services function areis structured to facilitate growth and areis scalable in a cost-efficient manner. The position works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. In addition, the Director exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Directs the responsibilities and deliverables of the transactional accounting shared services teams
  • Manages, both directly and indirectly, the personnel on the team
  • Oversees month-end close for the Accounting Shared Services team
  • Champions customer service and satisfaction, including regularly publishing an Accounting Shared Services performance dashboard and engaging key stakeholders in performance dialogues
  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies and other governance
  • Monitors and reports on-time vendor report payment processing
  • Analyzes data to determine and recommend appropriate course of action, based on fact
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls and monitors risks and barriers; creates and executes applicable mitigation strategies
  • Focuses on talent development, building a strong support team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or management or commensurate experience preferred
  • 7+ years pPrevious experience leading transactional teams, with increasing level of responsibility
  • Prior experience in accounting transactional services plus
