This is a part time design position that will receive work as it comes in through the Tarkett North America website. This will be a commercial design position with set hours to support the LIVE CHAT function on the web. This position will work collaboratively on commercial design projects. The ideal candidate will work well independently and in small groups to complete design specific project renderings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use color and material knowledge to create color palettes for commercial design projects.
Develop floor layouts that mix products together and inspire designers on how to use our flooring materials.
The ability to learn and understand properties, uses and restrictions behind specific commercial product categories. Technical applications.
Strong visual and communication skills with the ability to interact directly with architects and designers, retailers and key customers.
Ability to space plan and create computer generated material layouts and flooring designs
Create visual design presentations
Fluent knowledge of scale and proportion
Exceptional color acuity and the ability to communicate in visual color language
Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop strategic market concepts for specific market segments
Staff the LIVE CHAT Designer on Demand feature on the Tarkett North America Website.
Answer customers design questions in real time
Assist customers with entering Designer on Demand projects into the on-line form
Assist customer with using the Tarkett Virtual view program on the website
REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements):
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related design field of discipline or be working toward a degree in the specific discipline.
A knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is helpful.
Must have a good working knowledge of Sketch Up, REV IT, CAD and Adobe cloud based design programs
A thorough understanding of color theory.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving abilities
Effective written and oral communication skills
The ability to work independently
Must be pro-active and motivated
Must have a flexible schedule that can accommodate chat staffing between the hours of 8am and 11pm est.
A positive attitude and the ability to think outside the box
Strong organizational and time management skills are preferred.
