Oversees day-to-day operations of computer centers and information systems. Establishes policies, procedures, standards and objectives related to IT. Directs and supervises staff, hardware/software requirements, programming, and systems implementation as well as workflow. Identifies the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and reports to upper management. Develops, recommends and controls department budget and reports on expenditures.
A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering or relevant field. Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc. Three (3) years IT managerial/director experience. Experience in Health Care, Meaningful Use and/or Meditech system is required. Strong communication and organizational skills.
Oversees all technology operations, network security, and evaluate them according to established goals.
Selects, trains/orients and assigns department staff (either directly or through subordinate
supervisor). Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes
recommendations for personnel actions.
Devises and establishes Information Technology policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
Develops a plan to purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software.
Inspects the uses of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.
Identifies the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and reports to upper management.
