Salary: We follow the WCSD salary schedule. Salaries based on education and experience. These positions may be contracted.
Education Requirements: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in area of expertise or related field and be eligible to obtain a Nevada teaching license.
Experience: Experience in area of expertise or related field preferred. Candidates are expected to assess students using a spectrum of tools. Candidates are expected to use assessment data to support teachers in designing Personal Learning Plans for all students and deliver high-quality instruction that focuses on the content area while supporting a cross-curricular approach. Candidates are expected to deliver a positive behavior support system that enhances social and emotional growth. Candidates are expected to engage students and their families to support the small school community. Experience in and understanding of these areas are preferred.
Other Requirements: Must meet all certification requirements as a highly qualified content-area teacher in grades preschool through eighth grade. Candidates are expected to understand childhood development across the lifespan and be passionate about teaching children. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of and be able to leverage technology in the classroom and school community setting. Teachers will be expected to manage a classroom webpage and school community social media.
Job Description: Content area teachers are expected to work as part of a collaborative team ensuring all children are successful on the trajectory to excel on the P-20 pathway to college and career readiness. Each member of the team is expected to adhere to high expectations and deliver effective instruction that yields positive student outcomes. Teachers work as a team to develop Personal Learning Plans for every student in all subject areas based on school-wide assessments. Assessment data and Personal Learning Plans are used to design instruction using a circle, center, seat model and ability groups by subject area through promoting choice. Teachers are expected to deliver a positive behavior support system that enhances social and emotional growth. Teachers are expected to engage students and their families to support the small school community.
