JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments, issuing receipts, and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate. You should also be available to take evening and weekend shifts occasionally.
You’ll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction.
JOB DUTIES
1. Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
2. Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
3. Collect payments whether in cash or credit
4. Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
5. Redeem stamps and coupons
6. Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
7. Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
8. Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
9. Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
10. Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
11. Handle merchandise returns and exchanges

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a retail Pharmacy. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Hours will be the following Monday-Friday 12:00pm to 7:00pm, alternating Saturdays from 9am-3pm.
TRAVEL
Travel is not required for this position. Any travel that does occur will reimburse you for any gas mileage incurred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role
2. Basic PC knowledge
3. Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS
4. Good math skills
5. Strong communication and time management skills
6. Customer satisfaction-oriented
7. High school degree
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Retail experience in a pharmacy a plus
