Position Summary:
Sony Corporation of America

(SCA) is seeking a Director of Strategy to join the Global Information Security and Privacy (GIS&P) organization located in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC. This position will report to the Chief of Staff and will help lead the development and

execution of an enterprise information security and privacy strategy across Sony globally.

The Director will lead the development of a three-year mid-range plan and will provide strategic analysis and recommendations for improving Sony’s information security and privacy posture.

Responsibilities:
Lead the development of Sony’s global information security and privacy short and mid-term strategy in close coordination with senior management

Support the Chief Information Security Office and the Chief of Staff in the identification and evaluation of strategic priorities and opportunities, manage strategic analysis efforts with subject matter experts, and make recommendations on the direction of the information security and privacy program

Gather input on strategic goals, objectives, and initiatives from across Sony Group companies and GIS&P functional divisions and help drive an integrated strategic approach to information security and privacy across the company

Create overall strategic planning and analysis roadmap

Direct the work activities of one or more direct reports, determining priorities and allocating resources to complete tasks

Work closely with the Communications team in developing briefings for executive leadership that relate to strategic goals and objective

Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in strategic planning or information security program management preferred

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to critical tasks, organize and schedule work effectively

Ability to develop strong professional relationships and influence peers, managers, business unit leaders and other teams

Self-starter with the ability to identify problems independently, structure research and analysis projects, and make recommendations to executives

Experience leading cross-functional teams in a large, federated multi-national company

Demonstrated ability to identify, understand and assess organizational needs and opportunities and to translate strategic direction into concrete plans

Strong communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express complex and technical issues as understandable language to a variety of stakeholders

Knowledge of information security and privacy disciplines

Experience with global program management is preferred

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required, up to 10%
