Senior Manager, Facilities Engineering - Work in Richmond, VA

On a 42 acre, 4 building campus, you will lead a multi-talented group of facilities staff in the areas of plant maintenance, security, grounds maintenance, housekeeping, food service, space planning, secure document storage and disposal, company cars as well as budget management for all. You will have seven direct reports as well as the staff associated with contracted security, housekeeping and food service. You will manage an annual budget of approximately $6 million and capital expenditures of approximately $1.5 million.

Manage the day-to-day operations of various critical and noncritical facilities to ensure the operations, maintenance and vendor management standards of the contract are met in a cost effective, safe and efficient manner
Properly manage safety measures, OSHA compliance, PPE and material evaluation for a safe work environment for the maintenance staff and the employees of the site
Lead the security team as well as manage the CCure software system for badge access
Design flexible working environments that easily facilitate growth as well as provide an open, collaborative workspace
Develop and implement innovative programs, processes and procedures that reduce short and long term operating costs and increase productivity

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Engineering or Facility Management or equivalent
At least 8 years of work experience in managing a multiple building campus with approximately 1000 employees on site or more
Commercial, industrial and maintenance knowledge to understand the intricacies of commercial HVAC and electrical equipment, power distribution, data cabling, plumbing and grounds maintenance
Knowledge of stand-by electrical service, multiple feeders and redundant UPS capabilities
Knowledge of food services including cafeteria, catering, vending and special events
Knowledge of building codes, fire prevention and maintenance of fire systems
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex construction and maintenance projects, delivering high quality of work, on schedule and on budget
Knowledge of environmental regulations for proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
Knowledge of maintenance systems, equipment, contract management and supply management
Familiar with IP based camera systems and integration between cameras and badge access systems
Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel to be able to process monthly budget evaluations, comparing actual costs to budget plans as well as providing annual trends on recurring costs
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook to initiate meeting requests, manage a high volume of emails and maintain regularly scheduled events
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and be exposed to potential hazards
Ability to travel between Genworth facilities in Richmond, VA using both a personal and departmental vehicle
Ability to handle heavy physical demands: Exerting 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible up to 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Ability to perform snow removal of sidewalks, stairs and parking lots as needed
Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations, assuring employee safety, minimizing property loss and providing contingent resources if needed
A team player who leads by example with the ability to multi-task based on business needs
Excellent communications skills with the ability to motivate and inspire innovative thinking for an energetic facilities team
Being flexible to work overtime and being available on call when required
Have a valid Virginia driver’s license with the ability to drive vehicles up to a 13-foot box truck to pick up parts or to move maintenance materials between sites

Working knowledge of resource management system to initiate work requests, assign requests and transfer between functional organizations
Experience with Herman Miller cubicle furniture
Proficiency with AutoCAD with experience in procurement software including reconciliation of credit card expenses
Strong technical writing skills to generate preventive maintenance procedures, best practices and good understanding of technical requirements
