As Principal Analyst/V.P. of Analytics, you will be creating, evaluating and validating predictive models based on patient-level biomarker and clinical data to create diagnostic and prognostic tests for various cardiovascular syndromes. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Use strategic thinking to prepare raw data for analysis, including cleaning, transforming, scaling, and integrating;
  • Building and evaluating diagnostic and prognostic models with machine learning methods, via cross-validation and internal validation sets;
  • Validating existing models on new data;
  • Creating inferential and exploratory analyses as needed;
  • Contributing to clinical development and plan preparation;
  • Reviewing of study protocols and preparation of statistical methodologies;
  • Building effective data visualizations, tables, and reports;
  • Contributing to scientific abstracts, posters and papers;
  • Maintaining good statistical and data-management practices;
  • Creating and and adhering to rigorous data-storage and management practices;
  • Working effectively with the Prevencio team and external collaborators.

The traits we are looking for in an ideal candidate include:

  • A Master's degree or Ph.D. in biostatistics, computer science, statistics, or a similar quantitative field;
  • Experienced with inferential and predictive data analytics in R, including supervised learning and survival analysis;
  • Experienced with study design and sample size calculations, including identifying and defining research problems, and designing analytical approaches, hypotheses and methodologies;
  • Experienced with proteomics data (e.g., immunoassays), and other types of bioassay data;
  • Experienced with using internet- and cloud-based technologies for facilitating version control with distributed coding teams (e.g., version control via GitHub, or file sharing via Amazon S3);
  • Experienced with analyzing and managing real-world datasets;
  • Willing to embrace shifting priorities;
  • A keen eye for detail;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Works well with a team, including other analysts and scientific collaborators;
  • Is curious and driven;
  • Is located in the continental United States and legally able to work within the U.S.A.
