Support and develop the European B2C Payments (Manager) activities with project, operational and reporting/analytics activities. Countries to be served are: Poland, Netherlands, UK, Spain and Portugal. The role is location independent within the EU.
As the importance of non-cash payments in BP’s Retail networks is further increasing from its current 40-55% level and new/innovative payment options are reaching those markets, the European Fleet Business plays an important role to drive and support development and implementation of payments acceptance and issuing strategies. In Fuels ESA, the European Fleet team main focus is Europe and Southern Africa but is increasingly involved in BP’s payment activities globally.
Within European Fleet the European B2C Payments Manager leads, shapes and develops BP’s B2C payment acceptance landscape and B2C issuing activities in Europe and where applicable globally. Supporting and guiding the countries and leadership he defines payment strategies, shares expertise and enables projects. Given the huge activity agenda European Fleet and the countries have identified the need for B2C Payment Advisor roles to support the European B2C Payments Manager.
The Payment Advisor will report to the European B2C Payments Manager and will coordinate his/her activities with relevant in-country operational colleagues of the assigned countries as well as functional colleagues mainly in IT&S, Legal and Procurement. One of the roles will be Location Dependent in Bochum (Germany) assigned to Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxemburg.
The other role will be Location Independent assigned to UK, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Portugal.
Projects: liaise with in-country marketing and operations stakeholders, IT&S and Procurement colleagues and relevant vendors to deliver B2C Payment acceptance and issuing projects, which include start or end of acceptance of card and payment types and enhanced functionality for issued value propositions. Also in support of BP strategic programmes (like GSD, NCTT, RESET, BPme) as far as they affect country B2C payments activities.
Information gathering: collect country market knowledge, compliance & incident data and transactional data for reporting within European Fleet, the marketing CoEs, leadership and other stakeholders.
Operational support: ensure continuity of B2C cards acceptance, both from a Master Data (Merchant ID, terminal IDs, VU-Numbers, etc) and a Transactional/Interfaces/Invoices/Fees point of view. Includes invoice checking and error correction both towards vendors/acquirers and dealer/site settlement. Where needed act as country contactperson to (local and international) schemes, vendors, acquirers, external bodies/forums. Maintain B2C payment Operations Standards Manuals where applicable.
Essential experience and job requirements
At least 1 year payments industry experience
Good understanding of the IT side of payment processing
Excellent international project management, influencing and facilitation skills
High level of proficiency in MS-Office, including MS-Excel and MS-Project
Fluent in English and good proficiency in at least one other non-German language, supporting UK, NL, PL, SP and PT
