About Applications Development at UPS Technology:
The Lead Applications Developer provides leadership in full systems life cycle management (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.) to ensure delivery is on time and within budget. He/She directs component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives to meet business requirements and ensure compliance. This position develops and leads AD project activities and integrations. He/She guides teams to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. This position researches and supports the integration of emerging technologies. He/She provides knowledge and support for applications’ development, integration, and maintenance. This position will lead junior team members with project related activities and tasks. This position guides and influences department and project teams. He/She facilitates collaboration with stakeholders.
About this role:
Be an essential member of one of UPS’s most significant transformation efforts! The IT Human Capital Management team, part of the HR Transformation program, is looking for a Lead Applications Developer to assist with implementing technologies that will enable and shape our future HR business processes and operating model.
The Human Capital Management (HCM) Lead Applications Developer will be an integral part of the HR Transformation program. Key responsibilities include participating in Global Design workshops to design HR business processes, design and develop Workday configurations, manage Cloud tenants, design and develop reports in Workday to support HR Business.
The Lead Applications Developer recognizes, reveals, and escalates risks and issues to expedite decision making and resolution. This position collaborates with other program work streams and with other IT and business functions to develop requirements that meet UPS security/audit standards. This candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to understand and convey technical/functional solutions with developers & users. The ability to create project plans, prioritize, assign & manage tasks to meet project deadlines.
3-5 years of experience in Workday or PeopleSoft implementations
Primary Capability/Specialty: Software as a Service
Strong hands on experience in Workday Studio, API (Web Services) and EIB's and Core connectors
Experience in data extraction, data mapping and data conversion from a legacy system to Workday
Experience in Agile Development
Self-motivated with superior analytical and problem solving skills, and a strong sense of accountability
Ability to learn while broadening team’s knowledge of Workday configuration through knowledge transfer, training and documentation
Provide frequent and clear communications regarding the status of initiatives, keeping stakeholders informed of changes and work that is in progress
Support HR teams to ensure compliance with all HR related legal requirements and reporting
Ensure documentation is current on all new and existing HR and Legal applications and processes
Develop and execute unit/system test plans; support end to end testing, user acceptance testing, cutover and go-live planning to ensure delivery of a quality product
Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and excellent interpersonal skills to work with client Global Talent Acquisition SMEs and HR Operations Leads
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or equivalent
Knowledge of Human Resource and Payroll business functions
