Summary

This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

This position is TERM, NOT-TO-EXCEED (NTE) 18 MONTH POSITION, BUT MAY BE TERMINATED AT ANY TIME AT MANAGEMENTS DISCRETION. IT IS ALSO PART-TIME, NOT TO EXCEED 32 HOURS PER WEEK.

This position is a Virtual position, the selectee may work from home for the duration of the position, relocation to the Arlington, Virginia area is not required.

Responsibilities

As a HR SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) at the GS-0201-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Maintains and ensures Agency-wide position classification accuracy and consistency in interpreting and applying OPM position classification standards and guidance as well as DoD policies pertaining to classification and position management.
  • Provides the full range of classification/position management assistance to DSCA Headquarters and satellite managers and executives advising on complex classification and position management advisor concerns and issues requiring extensive analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Serves as a full participant in developing, evaluating, improving, issuing, and implementing DSCA classification, and position management regulations, policies, procedures, and other guidance having agency-wide usage and impact.
  • Resolves or advises on complex classification and position management concerns and issues requiring extensive qualitative and quantitative analysis and troubleshooting.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13 if you fulfill the following qualifications:
Providing advisory services on the classification of General Schedule (GS), Wage Grade (WG) and Administratively Determined (AD) positions
Maintaining and ensuring position classification accuracy and consistency in interpreting and applying Office of Personnel Management (OPM) position classification standards
Conducting position management, reviews, surveys and studies for assigned organizations

Specialized experience in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the military or private sector) which has given me the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
