Provide product and analytic research to support fund sales and marketing efforts using Morningstar, Bloomberg, S&P/Capital IQ, and other research/analytic tools.
Develop sales and analytic tools (i.e., Morningstar fund comparison templates) and provide timely support of requests and inquiries.
Embrace proactive approach to grow AUM for assigned products.
Develop expertise in matters related to fund products – investment and/or index process, asset class characteristics, sales strategy, messaging, portfolio positioning, competitive products, and risk management.
Support development of product related collateral and educational materials, including investment primers, brochures, presentations, messaging, whitepapers, webinars, web content, etc.
Work closely with creative services, marketing, and compliance to ensure that information and materials are accurate, effective, and approved for use.
Extensive use of Excel (including PivotTable, Lookup functions, product add-ins), PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Morningstar, S&P Capital IQ.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, marketing, or another related field of study.
CFA, CAIA, or other professional investment analytics training preferred.
Formal training in statistics, econometric, or other analytic discipline(s) preferred.
Skills and Experience
Deep experience with financial modeling, charting and analytics (Excel), development of presentations (PowerPoint), and research (Bloomberg terminal, Capital IQ, Morningstar, Excel).
Data manipulation capabilities – ability to rapidly transform and normalize data from numerous disparate sources.
Hypothesis-driven research approach – creative ability to formulate hypotheses and develop approaches to gather and analyze data
Tool expertise – where to find data to support research efforts and ability to develop analytics using available tools.
Self-starter with long-term interests in the fund industry.
Two years of fund related experience (i.e., accounting or analyst).
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders including sales, operations, marketing, and compliance.
Ability to think logically, critically, and constructively about complex problems, and propose creative solutions that address business needs.
Time management – the ability to organize and prioritize, to establish and meet deadlines, are critical to ongoing success and growth.
Quality and accuracy are paramount to ongoing success.
