We are currently seeking a Program Manager II to join our team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to;
Coordinate with and manage daily activities of cross-functional team for successful execution of assigned projects or programs.
Establishes baseline time, cost and performance objectives to meet overall program scope.
Creates and controls program documentation such as program plans, tollgate authorizations, decision records, etc.
Works with external customers on an on-going basis during the complete lifecycle of the program.
Ensure program and product requirements are established and controlled consistent with AV's processes.
Assess program risk and opportunities, establishes mitigation and capture plans.
Establish, track and analyze program performance metrics and take action to address issues and/or opportunities.
Understands program lifecycles and can manage efforts through the various program phases.
Works closely with planning team to ensure suppliers meet requirements & performance expectations.
Comprehend, communicate, and manage programs in alignment with business unit priorities.
Make sound/data-driven decisions to ensure program cost, schedule and performance targets are met.
Motivate, mentor, delegate and communicate clear & timely direction.
Identify and manage program resources and/or organizational conflicts.
Comprehend and execute programs in accordance with AV's quality management system.
Maintain objectivity and composure under pressure.
Lead with rapid agility to deal with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
Required Qualifications & Background
General Knowledge and Experience: Experienced in advanced Project or Program Management concepts and has a minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in applying Project/Program Management principles and processes in a technology development environment. Must have experience successfully developing and managing programs in a fast paced deadline driven environment. Experience in taking projects/programs from development into production is a plus. Experience interfacing directly with customers. Must have experience in developing risk management and mitigation plans. Must have managed developmental programs with minimal guidance demonstrating an ability to successfully handle program issues and escalating appropriately. Ability to understand financial data and make program decisions to maintain margins and budgets. Experience managing program variances or program performance indices. Understanding of government defense acquisition processes is a plus. Duties include but are not limited to the Qualifications and Background requirements identified below.
Excellent verbal and written skills
Good organization skills
Experience in managing programs which also use outside resources; i.e. contract manufacturers, design houses, etc.
BS degree in Engineering required, MS Desirable
Understanding of ISO9001 and/or AS9100 standards is a plus
Able to excel in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
Takes ownership and responsibility for current and/or past work projects
Is committed to learning from mistakes, driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Responsible for completing assigned tasks within program schedule and budget
Good written and verbal communication skills and able to clearly communicate with a diversified audience
Able to articulate concepts and ideas from technical staff to program staff
Good interpersonal skills and able to work well with others across disciplines
Good presentation skills for internal reviews
Familiarity with engineering development processes and operations qualification processes
Has respect for profit and strives to meet program schedules and budget
Makes decisions that have impact on program costs and schedule
Shares ideas and experiences with others
Able to develop solutions to solve problems, and clearly articulate assumptions and requirements
Able to make complex program plan decisions to meet stated requirements
Strong knowledge of appropriate program management tools and practices to meet contractual requirements
Additional Requirement: This position requires you have access to data and technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants cannot be hired until they are qualified to have such access. To meet this qualification you must be a current U.S. Person and provide documentation as such.
