Purpose
Under the direction of the Store Manager, the Warehouse Associate’s primary role is to complete operational and inventory tasks associated with creating and maintaining an exceptional in-store experience for the customer, as well as, provide support to the sales team. This includes loading and un-loading vehicles and trucks, handling of materials within the store and to / from loading area, verifying materials shipped / delivered against pick list, maintaining store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide an exceptional experience for the Customer by demonstrating the expected behaviors for service with every Customer.
- Maintain a level of professional knowledge about flooring products.
- Greet and assist Customers, as necessary.
- Answer phones and take messages
- Make required cuts on rolls.
- Load out Installers and Customers with sold goods.
- Ensure store is grand open ready every day, including elimination of safety hazards.
- Cut and roll remnants to ensure proper selection is available.
- Maintain merchandising standards by displaying all stocked goods according to standards.
- Maintain roll stock and samples according to Floor Trader National standards.
- Ensure product is properly priced, tagged, and signed according to current marketing / promotions.
- Ensure proper product location and pricing.
- Assist in maintaining store cleanliness and organization of merchandise displays.
Maintain Operational Efficiency
- Execute the receiving and shipping (load-out) process.
- Execute established process and procedures for store operations.
- Assist in establishing priorities for putting the Customer first but still completing required tasks.
- Establish routines for completion of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Follow recommended service schedules for equipment (cutting machine, forklift, etc.).
- Partner with sales team to monitor pick-up times by Customers and Installers.
- Complete Daily Cut Sheets correctly to ensure proper inventory control.
- Track sales of hot items and flag reorder levels.
- Properly document Return to Vendors, Damaged Goods, Materials for display, sample product, etc.
- Provide assistance in resolving mill complaints.
- Ensure proper maintenance of tools and product availability for DIY project category.
- Verify quantity of pad being picked up by Installers.

Education and / or Experience
- High School Degree.
- 1-2 years warehouse or inventory control experience.
Other Qualifications
- Ability to operate forklift equipment is a plus but isn't required
- Knowledge of computerized inventory control systems.
- Ability to understand and communicate numerical data.
- Ability to calculate simple figures and amounts.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift materials weighing up to and in excess of 70 pounds.

- Reports the Store Manager.
