Full Job Description
Our Purchasing Agent will be responsible for the efficient procurement of all assigned Choice product lines by expediting purchase orders, maintaining appropriate service levels, responding to daily shortage reports, containing costs through vendor negotiations, volume buying, new sourcing and promotional discounts.
This position requires a college degree in a business or analytical discipline, and/or five years of previous experience in a purchasing related environment.
This position prefers someone with a mechanical background, and the ability to understand fasteners, hydraulic fittings, and other MRO products.
Proficiency in Microsoft software applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
The ability to multitask successfully in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to communicate professionally with management, vendors, customers, and co-workers in both written and verbal form.
This position requires handling emails and phone calls in a calm and professional manner.
This position requires excellent name/number perception skills and the ability to research in a catalog.
This position requires the ability to work independently, respond quickly to problems, and the ability to work in a stressful environment.
This position requires the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand written and oral instructions.
This position requires the execution of stock replenishment and special orders. Following up with suppliers concerning order status and delivery lead times and communicating back to the sales force and customers with any updates.
