The Sr. Security Technology Designer is responsible for all aspects of project delivery. Responsibilities include assisting design meetings with clients; document production including specifications writing and set up and maintenance of Revit models for the security/technology group; ability to work at a firmwide level in support of the low voltage system group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Group Leader with proposal perpetration and may participate in interviews.

Assist with Project Management Duties on assigned projects:
Create and manage workplans
Manage production schedules
Attend client meetings
Attend internal team meetings
Integrate the low voltage design into the overall project to meet the client’s needs

Building Information Modeling (BIM) support to include:
Configure low voltage models based on the project architectural model
Configure project models using developed templates
Assist other project designers in coordinating the low voltage discipline work with Architecture, Structural and MEP disciplines
Maintenance of Revit families
Quality audit checks on construction documents
Ensure BIM standards and guidelines are followed
Use client management systems for documents and drawings
Assist Architectural discipline in compiling construction documents relative to low voltage drawings and specifications.
Assist low voltage designers in clash detection and conflict resolution with MEP and other systems

Construction Administration responsibilities:
Attend pre-bid meetings
Scope validation
Pre-construction meetings
Shop drawing review
Progress meetings
RFI responses
Field observations
Field reports
Observation of system operation for punch list reports

Required Skills

Understanding of basic Revit functions and automated processes.
Understanding of construction management software systems.
Advanced skills in production of construction documents using Revit.
Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to manage projects, produce deliverables and perform construction administration duties.

OTHER:
Travel required.

Required Experience
5+ years of low voltage experience, experience on justice (correction facilities and government buildings) projects preferred.
2 year degree in construction management or low voltage design related field of study.
Knowledge and Understanding of low voltage systems for corrections and other government applications
Knowledge of Revit.
Knowledge and understanding of construction disciplines and bid documents.
