The Google Cloud Platform team helps customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Google’s global network, web-scale data centers and software infrastructure. As a Google Maps Solutions Architect, you'll work hand-in-hand with Sales teams to introduce Google’s Location Platform to our customers. You will publish solutions and present at conferences, while providing support support to Customer Engineers to tackle our most challenges customer use cases, developing demos, proofs of concepts or architecture diagrams. You will work with Customer Technical teams to design and architect solutions that will get the customers up and running on Google Maps vertical solutions.

You will also use your knowledge and leadership of product management, industries, software and cloud computing to design solutions and take them to market. You'll help drive awareness of our solutions at leading industry conferences and Google events. Your enthusiasm, technical and business depth, and excellent presentation skills will help decision makers understand the benefits of the Google Maps Platform to drive growth and customer success.

Responsibilities
Serve as a key member of the business development and sales deal team in helping to ensure customer success in building applications and services on Google Maps Platform. Provide expertise and leadership in Solutions Architecture in the maps and location services space.
Define the business case for solutions, design the solution to help with prototyping and development, and take solution through to launch and market.
Understand customer base and industry verticals; capture and share best-practice knowledge among the solutions architect community and open source community. Demonstrate thought leadership in maps across multiple channels and become a trusted advisor to decision makers.
Collect customer and market feedback, and provide it to Product and Engineering teams to influence product direction. Work with Technical Writers to ensure quality internal and external customer-oriented documentation.
Travel up to 30% in region for meetings, technical reviews and onsite delivery activities.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Internet of Things (IoT), smart cities, urban mobility, transport & logistics, AR/VR and/or gaming (i.e. Unity).
Experience with one or more of the following languages: Java, C#, PHP, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, HTML5 and/or mobile application development (Android /iOS).

Preferred qualifications:
MS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field.
5 years of experience as a Solution Manager or Developer - developing new solutions.
Experience in the business technology market and expertise in working closely with Sales and Marketing teams in cloud computing or related technical fields.
Understanding of cloud architectures.
Comfortability talking discussing technical matters with business people and business matters with technical people. Ability to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences.
Ability to craft a compelling message and tailor it for a given audience. Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable and useful.
