BIG TEX TRAILERS - WELDER
Location: Big Tex Trailers 20975 US-80 Wills Point, Texas 751469
Shift: 6am-4:40pm, Monday-Thursday (Friday/Saturday as needed)
Pay: $17.50+/hour, depending on experience
Job Overview
Welders prepare, weld, assemble, and inspect metal components of trailers according to SOPs, blueprints, and other instructions. Welders assist their teammates, maintain a safe and clean working environment, and complete other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities

Maintain a clean environment and follow company 5S + Safety Standards
- Maintain all company quality requirements and follow company guidelines utilizing a stop-and-fix mindset

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

Determine the appropriate welding equipment, settings, and methods based on requirements

Set up components for welding according to specifications

Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts

Align components using fixtures, tape measure, levels, speed square, and clamps

Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead)

Prepare trailers and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

Maintain equipment in compliance with SOP and safety requirements

Assist other welders to drive teamwork and efficiency

Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

Work effectively in awkward positions while bending, stooping, kneeling, or standing to work overhead during 10-hour shift

Job Qualifications

Welding experience required - must pass MIG weld test

High school diploma or GED preferred

2 to 3 years of welding experience preferred

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
