Under general direction of the supervisor, assists in an outpatient clinical setting, provides initial patient triage and administrative services, assists with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
High school diploma or GED plus six months to one year of related experience is required. Certified Medical Assistant is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of inventory management practices.
Knowledge of outpatient clinical administrative procedures.
Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
Skills in practicing safety, environmental and/or infection control methods.
Skills in patient evaluation and triage procedures.
Personal and human relation skills.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to educate patients as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment.
Ability to maintain confidential, quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Ability perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols.
One year of experience that is directly related to the essential functions in addition to required certification.
Frequent standing, sitting, and walking. Occasional exposure to gases, chemicals, or other hazardous materials.
