Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director will serve as a key financial advisor to senior management of the Company’s Direct-to-Consumer segment, working closely with the President of Retail, Senior Vice President of Retail, Senior Vice President of Digital and other constituents in the Direct-to-Consumer segment. S/He will be responsible for supporting financial operations of the Direct-to-Consumer segment, including accounting, finance, decision support and other segment operations.
By working collaboratively with the business, the Director will manage day-to-day operational, financial forecasting and planning, and accounting activities of the segment. The Director will also contribute critical operational finance leadership, including the implementation and application of appropriate financial reporting, accounting and internal controls. This role will also be responsible for managing process improvement efforts – financial and operational – and lead other functional and management initiatives while meeting key objectives and deadlines.
This role requires an experienced, collaborative finance professional with strong leadership and people management skills. This executive must be able to think strategically as well as ensure efficient and effective day-to-day operations. This includes the ability to leverage systems and technology on an ongoing basis to maintain and improve financial reporting and the analysis of key business metrics.
Essential Job Results
Supporting senior management with operational and financial forecasting and planning, reporting, decision support analyses and other ad hoc finance and accounting projects.
Ensuring that internal financial and management reporting is provided in an accurate, clear, timely, objective and succinct manner.
Identifying and implementing opportunities to promote streamlined processes, financial systems, operational efficiencies and enhanced internal controls.
Developing and building relationships with the leaders of the segment with an eye toward truly understanding the business and solving issues as a business partner to operational leadership.
Overseeing the preparation of financial reports to provide segment management, corporate management and the Board of Directors with pertinent information and analysis on the operating results of the segment.
Ensuring that external accounting and financial reporting is delivered in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable guidance, particularly including lease accounting under ASC 842.
Assisting the global accounting team in ensuring consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
Analyzing the financial performance of the segment and effectively articulating this performance verbally and in writing to senior management.
Developing staff globally through talent development, training and mentoring of individuals, as well as staffing and recruiting of necessary skill sets.
Interfacing with investor relations and assisting with the development of analyst communications and presentations related to the Direct-to-Consumer segment.
Ensuring the effectiveness and adequacy of policies, procedures, and controls for the Direct-to-Consumer segment and create new and improved mechanisms, policies, and procedures when necessary.
Exhibiting flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
A demonstrated record of success within a large, global organization. Public company experience preferred.
Experience working collaboratively with general managers and other financial functions.
A demonstrated track record for building world-class teams through recruitment, motivation and development of exceptional talent. Someone who can assess capability gaps, build plans for addressing organizational needs, and drive change.
A proven track record of instilling core finance processes and controls and leading process improvement projects.
Self-motivated, hands-on, detail-oriented with the ability to take the initiative, multi-task and remain flexible with changing priorities. Ability to adapt to rapid change and think creatively.
A highly skilled leader who effectively leads his/her group by clearly communicating expectations, following through on deliverables and providing input and direction to ensure the accurate and timely development and communication of financial data.
Demonstrated skills in supervising, coaching staff, and creating high performing teams, and experience managing a diverse international team is an asset.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills which will allow the ready establishment of credibility and acceptance by the leadership team and peers.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in finance, accounting or a related field required
MBA or another graduate degree would be highly desirable.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in progressively larger financial leadership roles.
Retail industry experience with consumer goods company selling through both brick & mortar and e-commerce channels high-valued.
Financial planning and analysis or adjacent field of finance, investment banking, consulting, business intelligence or accounting
Microsoft Office Suite required, Oracle, PeopleSoft and / or Hyperion Planning experience preferred
