We are rapidly growing and seeking a talented individual to join our Process Development & Manufacturing - Cell Line Development Team.
The successful candidate will be able to execute hands-on laboratory work in cell culture including planning and executing stable cell line development, shake flask production, and bench scale purifications experiments. The position requires a drive to provide outstanding customer service by maintaining regular communications with clients, meeting or exceeding quality and timeline expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Cell Culture. This position requires 90% of bench-level work.
Ensure high-quality, timely documentation in laboratory notebooks and technical reports.
Compose technical reports, scientific publications, and/or oral presentations.
Communicate project updates to team leaders and project managers.
Investigate, create and implement new methods and technologies to improve effectiveness and to create efficiencies and cost savings.
Maintain scientific excellence in area of cell culture and cell line development.
Thinks critically and creatively to troubleshoot issues related to cell line development
Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects
B.S. in biochemistry, biology, or a related field
0 to 5 years industrial experience
Ability to work weekends and off hours as needed
Self-Starter and drive to be an entrepreneur
Ability to prioritize responsibilities, multi-task, and remain flexible with changing needs
Must be motivated and able to work under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Good documentation and organization are required
Able to work effectively in cross functional teams to solve process development problems or implement improved procedures
Previous mammalian cell culture experience with CHO cell lines used in protein production applications
Previous experience with stable cell line development.
Previous protein purification experience is a plus.
Understanding of chemical, biochemical and physical interactions of cell culture media and reagent components
Work is performed in an office and laboratory environment. May be exposed to biological and chemical hazards. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 30lbs. Must be able to work while wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and lab coats deemed necessary to protect testing and to protect employees. Work is to be performed on site.
