The Social Media Content Specialist will act as an extension of the athletic department digital, branding and creative teams by collaborating with, conceiving and bringing to life imaginative content and disruptive ideas designed to enhance fan experiences on digital platforms and grow and engage college sports social/digital audiences, while also developing new revenue driving opportunities for IMG College.
This individual must be a creative storyteller with a passion for and comprehensive understanding of College Sports and experience with graphic and motion design and the development of multi-platform social content strategies that captivates the intended audience, drives reach and engagement.
This role will support the strategic objectives of both IMG College and our partners through the development of innovative social media content that capitalize on emerging trends in digital content production and distribution.
Full time temporary role through June 2019
Assist in daily management of various social media accounts, including, but not limited to scheduling of postings for articles, photo galleries, events, event promotion, fan interaction, and promotional activities
Assist in the creation of content for various social media platforms including but not limited to multimedia audio/video, animation, graphics, and sponsorable content.
Act as a liaison between athletic department content team, IMG local sales teams and WME | IMG Digital team.
Collaborate closely with athletic department content teams to write short and long-form copy in the defined voice and tone of each social media account, across all platforms, including emerging platforms
Evaluate, interpret, and decode performance analytics for the purposes evaluating content performance, fan/follower growth strategies, and improving community engagement.
Expected to attend live events and produce social content in-game.
Prefer advanced knowledge of graphic & motion design and video editing/production (including After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop)
Minimum 1-year experience successfully working in a creative production environment
Minimum 1-year experience in developing creative social content that has driven community engagement and results
Demonstrated experience creating content for multiple social platforms with a clear understanding for what works best on specific social media channels
Demonstrate a proficient understanding of how all social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Snapchat) and their communities work, including emerging platforms
Prefer previous experience in sports industry and ideally in college athletics
Prefer previous experience working with a sales team
Ideal candidate will be comfortable in front of and behind the camera
Ideal candidate will have general understanding of photography
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proven ability to collaborate with other content creators and stakeholders
Creative and strategic in nature with the ability to think outside the box and articulate “big ideas”
