SCAD seeks an Assistant Director of Career and Alumni Success to serve as a career adviser
and counselor for SCAD graduate students, undergraduate students, and alumni.
In this role, you will lead and supervise the career advising team serving School of
Communication Arts and School of Fine Arts students and alumni. In addition to providing
high-quality career advising, the assistant director oversees on-campus recruiting and
career events for the two schools.
As part of the CAS leadership team, the assistant director helps develop and evaluate the
strategy to prepare students for career success and increase the employment rate of SCAD
graduates. This role requires well-developed interpersonal, leadership, presentation,
organizational, and project-management skills. A comprehensive understanding of art and
design industries and the career development process, as well as professional attire and
conduct, is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree with more than three years of experience in career advising, recruiting,
or related industry (Master’s degree preferred)
- Supervisory-level experience preferred
- Ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ever-adapting environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with information management systems and other web-based technology
