Project Manager - Environmental Engineering

We are looking for a reliable Project Manager for an Environmental Services firm specializing in Phase II and Phase III projects. The selected candidate will have a license (PE, PG, or CMPP) and five or more years of Construction or Environmental Project Management experience. This position consists primarily of budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of projects.

  • Develop and maintain project schedule for incoming projects.
  • Charter, direct, coach, monitor and assess consultant and contractor work.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain site remediation files and communicate efficiently with managers.


  • Develop budgets, approve spending, and certify cost.
  • Estimate project life-cycle cost and maintain financial forecasts.
  • Implement project controls and ensure cost tracking, reasonableness and efficiency.

Field Supervision:

  • Develop Work Plans for On-site activities.
  • Develop and follow Health & Safety Plans.
  • Act as project team leader and provide management and direction for the oversight of remedial construction activities.

Basic Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in related field (Engineering: Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering; Management: Construction Management; Physical Sciences: Geology, Soil Sciences, Earth Science)
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in the field of environmental remediation or environmental engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in Project Management
  • Understanding of current environmental regulations including RCRA, CERCLA, and EPA requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, as well as in Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Comfortable in small office environment; flexible and team player
  • Class C Driver's License
  • Full Professional Proficiency of English Language

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Related Field
  • Professional Engineering, Professional Geologist, or CMPP in State of California
  • Experience with California State regulations
  • 5 years of working experience in the field of environmental remediation or environmental engineering
  • 2 years of experience in Project Manager Role
  • Experience with subsurface investigation and interest in soils
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling software

Compensation depends on experience and will range from $30 to $50 an hour.
