Position Title: Associate Event Producer at von Lila Creative
Type: Part-Time, 10-20 hours per week with an awesome team
Location: Hybrid (Remote & In-Person in DUMBO, Brooklyn, NYC)
Schedule: Twice per week in-person at an inspiring work space; additional remote work as needed via Zoom.

von Lila Creative, founded by Rosie von Lila, provides sophisticated hosting services and creative event planning for companies nationally. The founder has created more than 235 events over 25 years, including conferences, massive culture festivals, 500+ person parties, retreats, corporate networking events, and high-end executive gatherings. von Lila Creative is known for its outstanding hospitality and connection-focused experience designs.
von Lila Creative is also a co-producer on the theatre play Fellow Human (written by Rosie von Lila), in development for NYC debut in 2025. The Fellow Human marketing strategy is word of mouth and hyper-focused in New York City, which has led to our devoted fanbase. To grow our fanbase, the Fellow Human team produces numerous events monthly and annually in New York City, including: Walk Around New York; The Petite Gala; The Grand Picnic; City Stroll & Mingle; and more.
Position Summary:
NOTE: von Lila Creative is seeking two associate event producers.
This role is anfor someone educated in event productionwith some experience (internships and producing your own events does count if paired with college education in event management). We provide excellent on-the-job training.
- An ideal Associate Producer for the von Lila Creative team is outgoing, educated in event management, and has experience creating events (no matter how small).
- This is an entry level position for a graduate student or recent graduate. We are looking for creativity and project management skills to be demonstrated in your past events, no matter the size of the events. We train our associate producers with real-world experience, and provide excellent opportunities for growth and career development.
- We are seeking Associate Event Producers who are passionate about creating meaningful experiences, both for our von Lila Creative corporate clients and for our Fellow Human fanbase.
- This role is perfect for a graduate student pursuing a degree in Hospitality or Event Management who is eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical, hands-on setting with a supportive team and an amazing company culture that values human flourishing, growth, and mutual care and support.
- The ideal candidate will possess a blend of creativity, organizational prowess, and a genuine love for convening people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan and execute varied events, including all manner of corporate events, cocktail parties, gala dinners, and fundraising events. We provide ample hands-on training.
2. Project-manage all facets of event production, from initial planning stages through execution. Handle vendor management, logistics, participant/attendee relations, and budgeting -- we will support you in applying your academic knowledge to real-world experience.
3. The right-fit candidate for this role is a self-starter who can problem solve and can work out details. The wrong-fit is someone who is not willing to use their creativity to problem solve and needs the answers provided. The right-fit loves solving project-related puzzles!
4. Collaborate closely with and manage production team members to ensure alignment with overall project goals and themes.
5. Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the creative process with relevant ideas and solutions.
6. Be effective in project management when working remotely. We want team members who keep projects on-track and on-time even when the team is working from home.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A graduate of or currently enrolled in a Hospitality or Event Management program
2. Education in event management and planning is a must – must be competent in the kind of linear thinking necessary to envision an event production cycle from pre-production to post-production
3. Demonstrated experience in event planning or production, with examples of past work – come prepared to tell us stories about the events you have worked on. Bonus points if you have pictures/video to show us!
4. Highly organized -- Familiar with task management software and highly capable with Excel spreadsheets; bonus points if you’re familiar with Trello
5. Attention to detail is a must
6. As is being a self-starter – every team member at von Lila Creative can work things out and find solutions -- we don’t look to someone else to provide all the answers
7. Seeking an excellent listener and proactive communicator with a bright, energetic personality; high energy and positive attitude are a plus
8. Based in New York City, with the ability to work in person twice a week in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and remotely as needed.
