Job Details

WHAT YOU'LL DO (including but not limited to):
Provide EH&S oversight and direction to all levels of employees and non-employees on site
Ensure the facilities EH&S programs are maintained to minimize risk and ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations as well as company standards
Ensure effective communications of EH&S messages and cultivating key communication and feedback channels
Develop and deliver engaging training systems and materials that meet company and compliance requirements
Establish processes to assess and prioritize EH&S risks to the plant and set up processes to effectively manage and mitigate those risks
Establish key performance metrics for EH&S areas for the plant and ensure effective systems for reporting and feedback
Participate in government, industry, and community committees, where applicable to represent the interests of the facility.
Manage an overall EH&S program to ensure their services meet facility requirements and operates in compliance with EH&S standards and practices
Provide technical safety guidance to management, employees and contractors on related health, safety and environmental concerns
Establish an effective process for minimizing Human Performance Risk (BBS) and continuously improving its effectiveness
Manage the EH&S function according to an established budget
Demonstrate a site presence and leadership visibility; ensuring actions continually reinforce EH&S as a core value
Foster a culture of open, continuous learning and sharing from all EH&S incidents, near misses, and opportunities
Leverage the activities of the site safety committees to enable active engagement of all employees to enhance and strengthen Twin City Fan Companies Safety Culture
Actively monitors and manages the Workers’ Compensation Third Party Administrator to ensure proper actions are in line with management’s goals and direction

People Leadership & Development:
Establish key roles and responsibilities for direct reports to ensure the proper coverage of key areas
Competent and skilled staff able to meet the current and future needs of the EH&S Department while providing opportunities for high potential employees
Foster development of leadership and technical skills of EH&S staff
Establish systems that engage employees in the EH&S culture and empowers them to continue the journey to EH&S excellence

Site Leadership Team:
Actively participates as a member of the site Operations team representing the EH&S department and contributing to the team in solving site business issues

Performs other duties associated with this position as assigned

An undergraduate or graduate science or engineering degree in a related field
Minimum of 10 years directly-related experience in the environment and safety field, with demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and issues along with at least 5 years of people management
Experience working cross functionally and achieving results through influence
Experience in hazard awareness and risk assessment
Experience with behavioral based safety systems.
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong change management skills
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
Ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with regulatory authorities
Direct related experience in manufacturing operations is a definite asset

The following certifications and training, if required, will be provided by the company:

Industrial Hygiene Sampling procedures
OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certification
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word and Excel spreadsheet applications.

Standard office environment
Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach
Ability to work extended hours sitting at a computer


While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee may occasionally be exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles, caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
