Leidos currently has an opening for a High Fidelity Simulation – Deputy Program Manager located in Bethesda, MD. We are looking for an energetic, motivated, self-starter, and adaptable individual to support a dynamic organization that delivers state of the art modeling and simulation systems. Responsibilities include coordinating resources (including sub-contractors), schedules, and tasking across multiple projects; tracking program execution; managing finances; compiling documentation deliverables; and ensuring contractual and process compliance.
This position will help manage a multi-organization / multi-discipline team supporting the Navy customer in projects that provide engineering services in support of tactical signature guidance systems and synthetic signature generation systems for naval ships, submarines, air and shore-based undersea surveillance systems. The tactical signature guidance systems produce real time performance prediction of sonar sensor detectability and ship/battlegroup vulnerability to opposing force weapons and sensors. The synthetic signature generation systems allow operators to train on the employment of their sonar and combat systems.
Successful candidates have demonstrated that they can operate in a highly technical environment involving the following domains: systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, and integration and test.
Travel may account for up to 10% of the job.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 12 years of experience in technical program management of software development and systems integration is required, ideally with projects involving submarine, surface, or undersea surveillance sonar. 10 years of experience in Anti-Submarine Warfare / Undersea Warfare acoustic design and analysis is required. Position requires an active DoD SECRET security clearance. Candidate must demonstrate proven experience with program management, strong communication skills (written and verbal), and must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
An advanced degree or Project Management Professional certification
8 years of experience with projects involving submarine, surface, or undersea surveillance sonar operations and tactics
Knowledge of underwater acoustics, underwater sound propagation, tactical oceanography, and acoustic intelligence with a familiarity of the SQQ-89 A(V)15, AN/BQQ-10, or Integrated Common Processor (ICP) sonar systems
Experience with simulation/stimulation systems, Naval systems development, and software development/testing
