What you'll be doing…
The Staff Accountant is part of our Trust Accounting team and focuses on maintaining financial records, preparing reports, paying taxes, and fielding questions for various assigned Trusts. This position acts as the liaison with the external auditors and will prepare PBCs for various Trusts.
  • Reconcile cash and investment accounts
  • Process Trust expenses and complete assigned tax responsibilities appropriately and timely
  • Prepare GAAP journal entries and review post-audit journal entries
  • Create journal entries monthly to record all general ledger activity for the most recent month and record the entries into accounting software
  • Prepare financial statements accurately and within strict timeframes
  • Provide support to Account Executives with questions and special schedules or analysis
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve Trust issues
  • Assist with external auditor requests
  • Support management team with financial reporting and process improvement
Who you are…
  • Educated. Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field and CPA license or pursuing a license
  • Experienced. One or more years of operational accounting experience with the ability to make sound accounting decisions
  • Knowledgeable. Working knowledge of professional accounting principles, practices and methods in accordance with US GAAP
  • Team Player. The ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as being a productive and contributing member of a team
  • Detailed. Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly assess and analyze problems and develop solutions
  • Organized. Strong organizational skills and the ability to utilize time management to work under pressure and within deadlines
  • Technically Savvy. Aptitude for understanding and using current technology – including proprietary software, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, proficiency in QuickBooks preferred
  • Communicator. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
