We are seeking a software developer to support our research, development, and engineering analysis team at our Colorado Springs, CO office.
For more than 60 years, the Peraton Navy group has supported our Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) customer by performing research, development, analysis, and algorithm development of weapon system performance in an independent verification of national laboratories. We utilize both COTS and in-house developed software to deliver analysis results and software models of weapons effects to Navy SSP or their designee.
The successful candidate will conduct software development to support modeling and simulation of weapon system performance subject to various environments. Candidate will perform as a Full-Stack software developer able to provide a wide range of software development of GUIs, back-end code, and develop databases in multiple languages for multiple environments. The position will require the use of Integrated Development Environments, compilers, software analysis tools, and documentation tools.
Lead a team in designing and implementing software programs written in object oriented languages, such as C++, Java and C#:
Convert legacy software written in Fortran and C to C++. This will require understanding the intent of the legacy code and creating object oriented versions of the legacy software.
Develop and interpret mathematical models to utilize in developed software
Develop GUI software interfaces in Java to communicate with backend code
Develop XML input/configuration file formats
Develop interfaces to HDF and SQL databases
Develop Unit Test software
Use Version Control Software Git and SVN
Internally document/comment source code
Maintain Configuration Management of software programs using CMMI process
Perform Verification & Validation of software:
Follow CMMI processes
Develop Unit Test software
Analyze data output from legacy and new software.
Develop Technical Documentation and Briefings:
Use tools such as Doxygen to auto-generate code documentation.
Develop User's Manuals describing the functionality of the software.
Develop Unified Modeling Language (UML) Diagrams
Develop Power Point presentations
Interface directly with the customer.
Travel for meetings and customer interactions.
B.S in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related technical degree, and 8+ years of related software development experience
Experience in an Agile Environment
Object Oriented Languages (C++ and/or Java)
Git or SVN
Windows and Linux OSSoftware Development:
Experience leading in an Agile environment
Fortran (all versions)

This position requires the candidate to have an active Secret security clearance, and to maintain the clearance. In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship. Position will require ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance; an active TS clearance is preferred and candidates with a TS clearance will be given preference.
