ROLE SUMMARY
This role will be responsible for leading accounting and finance professionals who are managing a large number of complex and global processes, activities and projects. This role is responsible for managing the Global Balance Sheet COE (deployments, governance, and process administration) as well as accounting, reporting and analysis for certain US, Canada, Puerto Rico and Global processes. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a large team of colleagues responsible for complex accounting and reporting activities including but not limited to the following: Ownership of Global Balance Sheet Reconciliation governance and process administration Business Owner for Cadency Application accountable for on-going system oversight related to BT processes Produce metrics for senior management and external auditors Global Training Program design and execution Global Quality Peer Review program oversight Global deployments of Cadency Ownership and administration of legacy global reconciliation management system Ensures business deliverables and financial deadlines are met Maintain accountability and ownership of key process documentation and operating procedures Lead initiatives related to acquisition and divesture solution design and implementation Lead the research and resolution of complex and technical accounting issues with little or no direction Lead large, challenging, competing and complex global projects and/or cross functional initiatives that are in addition to existing role and responsibility Lead site wide initiatives and teams Demonstrate areas of expertise and/or process ownership of global and/or complex areas Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of key Pfizer end to end process Demonstrate participation in “stretch” projects and assignments Recognized as Pfizer subject matter expert and/or global process owner for key accounting activities Bottom-line oriented; steadfastly pushes self and others for results Makes decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting his/her business and organization Forms teams when needed; creates strong morale and spirit in his/her team; shares wins and successes Can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably; can handle risk and uncertainty Coordinate, as necessary, with KPMG and Corporate Audit on impacts of R2R operational initiatives REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience • Minimum of 5 years of financial and corporate accounting including financial statement reporting experience • Demonstrated experience managing accounting and reporting teams in a complex and global environment • Ability to lead and motivate others without express authority • Demonstrated project management experience • Strong business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues in all functional areas of the Company • Ability to work in a high-performing team environment • Public accounting experience strongly preferred but not required • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university • Master’s degree preferred • CPA required Technical Skills Requirements • Demonstrated advanced technical financial reporting knowledge and experience • Advanced HFM and SAP skills preferred • Advanced MicroSoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills • Excellent oral, written, and overall communication skills • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • Ability to informally and formally develop and influence staff, senior accountants and team leaders through coaching/mentoring • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to structure projects, set objectives, and execute work plans • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems in an unstructured environment • Strong business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and operations colleagues in all applicable Pfizer Finance and business functional areas • Ability to perform and deliver in areas involving ambiguity • Shared service experience preferred EEO & Employment Eligibility Pfizer is committed to equal opportunity in the terms and conditions of employment for all employees and job applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, gender identity or gender expression, national origin, disability or veteran status.
