Position Overview

This position works under indirect and/or direct supervision, and includes the start-up installation (commissioning), troubleshooting, repairing, and programming environmental control systems. For you to perform your task you will utilize knowledge of electronics board level troubleshooting, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory, and building control techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for end to end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects or service requests.
Diagnose and repairs complex direct digital control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and electronic theory as well as the ability to create and modify program algorithms for multiple systems.
Communicate with all levels of clients to declare installation schedule or repair status.
Identify potential field changes and communicate changes to customer
Creates control algorithms, download source code to controllers, manage system databases, and implement an animated front-end graphical user interface.
Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure the complete system functions properly.
Performs service calls, adjustments and calibration on building systems.
Coordinate and perform customer training.
Provides technical support and direction to end-users and employees when applicable.
Weekly rotation on-call
Adheres to Code of Ethics, obeys all laws and regulations, and carries out all duties in a moral and virtuous manner.
Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
Displays team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
Other Duties and Responsibilities

Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and 2-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience is required.
Must have valid driver’s license and transportation.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and overall strong PC skills.
Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; both written and verbal.
Ability to read low voltage electrical wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams.
Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools.
Ability to understand control wiring diagram. /
Understanding of the operation of HVAC controls and HVAC equipment. This includes the ability to understand written sequences of operation.
Strong experience in resource/manpower planning and team leadership of multiple technicians and engineers/
Knowledge of the building automation industry.
Working knowledge of safety procedures and firm believer in safety
Tridium Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification
Knowledge of Johnson Controls Metasys / FX, Trane Tracer Summit, CSI Inet 7/2000, TAC Vista, Distech, Honeywell Webs / BACnet Spyder, and KMC Converge / Connect is a plus – knowledge of all systems is not a requirement.
