Manager, Supply Chain Planning
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Supply Chain Planning Manager will play a critical leadership role in transforming the way supply planning is executed in all aspects of the value chain at First Alert.
They will insure the proper balance of inventory investment against supply chain capacity while maximizing customer order fill rate and minimizing supply chain risk in a high growth environment.
They will drive strategic cross-functional collaboration with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Customer Service, Distribution, Sales and Marketing to ensure team alignment and that supply plans are flawlessly executed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement and manage fully integrated end to end supply chain processes that balances capacity planning and inventory turns while maximizing customer order fill rate
Optimize supply chain resources while executing cost reductions and inventory controls
Conduct monthly capacity and performance analyses to ensure that forecasts and schedules are aligned and integrated.
Drive weekly tactical planning processes that ensure proper adjustments are made to smooth the impact of dynamic demand and supply issues.
Minimize the need for supply chain triage or emergencies, but ensure that those few issues are dealt with swiftly and effectively until recovery is complete.
Execute demand flow verification processes, engage in short- and long-term planning and conduct inventory analyses for warehouse utilization and manufacturing coordination.
Must be comfortable using enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Measure and report on the effectiveness of departmental activities, KPI’s and maintain work instructions for department
Establish and adjust work daily schedules and procedures to meet warehouse demands, production schedules, established workflows and OSHA safety guidelines.
Identify root cause for excess inventory and collaborate with internal partners (Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain) with ways to optimize
Maintain cross-functional alignment during new product development and transitions to support customer needs and minimize cost
Works with Operations leaders to discuss and promote optimization projects and new initiatives
Translates performance improvements to financial values that align with corporate goals
Manage ERP/MRP systems to ensure data accuracy
Proactively report on out-of-stock and at-risk items – defining root cause and action plans to recover
Support budget/planning processes

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management
5-10 years’ experience in a Supply Chain related field
Familiar with diverse manufacturing processes
Comfortable in a high growth environment
5 years or more of leadership experience
Six Sigma and Lean problem-solving methods, certifications are a plus
High energy change agent with strong drive for continuous improvement
Demonstrated success in improving fill rates and inventory reduction
Experience using MRP or other planning optimization tools. Experience with SAP a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication
Change management principles and ability to drive and manage change process
Ability to identify and implement industry best practices
Consumer products experience a plus
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work cross functionally with proven results
Strong attention to detail
Advanced to Expert in MS Office (especially excel)
APICS CPIM certification preferred
