Department Description: Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham (BID–Needham) is a licensed 58–bed acute care hospital offering the same care as our direct affiliate Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in your community.
This close affiliation with BIDMC, since 2000, has facilitated the clinical integration of staff and resources in emergency medicine, hospital medicine (hospitalists), cardiology, radiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, pathology and oncology. Physicians in Needham maintain very close relationships with the staff at BIDMC; so in cases where patients need to be transferred from Needham to Boston for more advanced care, there are systems in place to make that transition happen quickly.

Job Summary: Under direction of the Needham Director of IS, provide support of MEDITECH and non-MEDITECH financial applications as assigned. Additional roles will include implementation participation and providing end user training and support.
This position provides support for MEDITECH's General Financial suite of applications including MM, AP, GL, FA in addition to other vendor financial systems that export data to and from MEDITECH. This position requires advanced skills in systems analysis and functional knowledge of MEDITECH's NPR Report Writer and SQL. Application support includes MEDITECH and non-MEDITECH system build, test, configuration, investigation and resolution of problems and management of issues/tasks.
Major Responsibilities include: current and future state design, end user training, application configuration to support future design, issue tracking and resolution, vendor interfacing, creation and implementation of test and training plans.
Responsible for the dictionary building and maintenance of MEDITECH and non-MEDITECH financial applications as assigned by Manager.
Participates in or leads departmental meetings to review financial information system documentation content and processes. Assures relevance and compliance to current regulatory standards, current practice and patient care processes.
Facilitate optimal training experiences through development of training materials, creation of training strategies and the provision of direct education to staff regarding use of computers for all clinical processes.
Ability to work in dynamic IS environment and take direction from BIDMC on financial IS applications and usage. Direction includes utilization of information systems at BIDMC and any applicable use at BID-Needham.
Ability to work with others to achieve hospital and department goals related to Information Systems projects.
Bachelor's degree required.
1-3 years related work experience required.
Experience and detailed knowledge of MEDITECH General Financial applications. Experience and detailed knowledge of MEDITECH 6.1 MIS or other relevant MEDITECH application familiarity. Understanding of Power Health or other decision support tools preferred. General knowledge of GHX or other EDI systems preferred.
Ability to function as a member of a team (participates in and/or lead meetings as needed). Previous work with computerized functions within a healthcare environment supporting financial departments. Familiarity with and knowledge of hospital department operating policies and procedures.
Experience participating in MEDITECH system upgrades, implementations and MEDITECH application testing is required.
Individual should be practiced in the use of MS Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, and Project and possess excellent verbal and written communication, judgment, and organizational skills.
Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.
