Summary / Objective:
This Acquisition PM SME focuses on specific aspects of program execution that require specialized expertise and requires interfacing with senior personnel. This particular position serves as the Division-level Senior Acquisition SME supporting PEG, Program Control, assisting in shaping Acquisition Plans, and monitoring and consulting through Portfolio Execution.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assists with acquisition business planning, reporting, scheduling, etc. to aid in program execution and decision making by sound application of the DoD 5000 series governance, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other applicable guidance, instructions, and regulations
  • Identifies, tracks and manages leading programmatic success indicators to enable the success of programs, and provides required decision support
  • Assists with overarching management of the Division’s portfolio of weapon systems, programs, and supporting projects
  • Attends most senior and executive leadership events and meetings to provide expert consult and maintain currency of leadership plans and goals
  • Provides final review of all division documentation requiring O-6 or General Officer approval ensuring proper coordination and comment resolution is applied, and ensuring documents in their entirety encompass sound acquisition judgement and planning to best execute to cost/schedule/performance requirements (this is an Acquisition SME role; not a document editor role)
  • Serve as BTAS Group Leader of contracted staff; providing leadership and managing 30+ contracted employees ensuring contractual and company policy compliance
  • Assist the BTAS Task Lead in interviewing new employees and providing inputs to the candidate selection process

  • This position may supervise the work of others
Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80%
  • Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other standard office equipment
  • This SME position requires approximately 15% travel OCONUS, subject to change, based on customer need
Required Education and / or Experience:
  • BA/BS degree
  • 20 years of program management experience, 10 of which must be in defense acquisitions
  • Supervisory experience
Preferred Education and / or Experience:
  • Master’s degree a plus
  • Experience with JCIDS, DoD-5000.02., 5000.74, ACAT I, II and III program management, SOOs/SOWs/PWSs RFPs, Milestone Decision Documentation
  • PEG, CAG, and/or SAF/AQ Staff experience a plus
