We are looking for a Human Relations Director reporting to the Vice President of Employee Experience reporting to the Chief HR Officer (CHRO) to proactively drive our employee engagement strategy.
The Human Relations Director manages human relations issues for the firm. This individual is responsible for the development and maintenance of the firm’s philosophy on human relations issues and then overseeing the appropriate execution. Provides coaching and guideance to HR business partners and company management to ensure the firm has a fair and consistent approach to handling these issues. Participates in policy development and assists leaders in understanding and implementing company policies. This individual will establish and maintain good relationships between employees and the company.
1. Lead the Human Relations function for the firm. Responsible for the developing and maintaining the firm’s philosophy and execution of human relations issues
Develops and builds positive relationships with HR business partners, company management, and employees. Works at both a tactical and strategic level to manage policies and procedures that impact people. Establishes and maintains good relationships between employees and the company.
Participates in policy development and assists HR business partners and management in understanding and implementing company policies.
Working with Legal, stays current on regulatory and legislative decisions as well as trends effecting employment practices.
Consistently applies and interprets company policies and procedures to ensure accurate compliance with all government regulations (EEO, INS, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, etc.) and all Federal and State laws. Responds to legal claims, charges and/or suits, using inside counsel if necessary.
Conducts investigations, resolves complaints and coaches HR business partners and management regarding performance management issues, and employment matters, including harassment, discrimination and terminations.
If necessary, leads corporate-wide downsizing initiatives. This includes selection criteria and documentation, analysis of impacted staff, all communication materials for management and employees.
Develops and delivers management and individual training specific to employment law, harassment, and other employment matters.
2. Analyze HR data to identify trends and initiate appropriate actions. Work with HR business partners and Human Resources Information Services (HRIS) to ensure appropriate access to HR data. Researching, developing and implementing programs in support of employee retention
3. Participate in and lead cross-functional HR projects that lead to higher levels of individual, team and company performance
4. Supports other functions of the Employee Experience team
A Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree preferred
Minimum 10 plus years of human relations experience focused on improving processes, practices, and communications for our employees
Experience anticipating and understanding business needs and objectives and taking the initiative to drive valuable, effective and aligned strategies and solutions
Highly tech proficient in integrated cloud-based HR systems, employee engagement tools, and communication systems a plus; ability to work with technology professionals to build cutting edge tools that optimize productivity
Depth of knowledge in Employee Relations processes, practices, current trends and future considerations
History of influencing others and successful execution of conflict resolution approaches
Continuous self -development and professional networking to stay on top of emerging and progressive ideas and practices
Ability to analyze and quickly use data for storytelling and measuring return on investment of programs and initiatives
Ability to toggle between strategic and tactical with a willingness to “roll up their sleeves”
