Temporary Inside Sales Rep - Maple Grove

Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology - Maple Grove, MN


Responsible for harvesting leads that will produce incremental sales growth of all Application services including CT Scanning Services, Contract Inspection, Custom Training, Staffing Services and Contract Programming.

Find opportunities for the direct Metrology Services sales team from manufacturers which are NOT the Zeiss existing Customer base in all of North America.

Responsible for driving opportunities with our Portable Metrology portfolio, and assisting with other sales regions as directed by the Business Manager.

Support all the members and overall goals of the Metrology Services Sales Team.

Ø Number of CT Scanning leads

Ø Number of Portable Metrology leads

Ø Number of Custom Training leads

Ø Number of phone calls/day/week/month/year


  • Achieve monthly & yearly lead generation targets in multiple Application service areas.
  • Create Action Plan of how to accomplish, specifically with competitor accounts.
  • Develop solid sales techniques using the Zeiss Sales Process and mentorship from the Business Manager.
  • Make multiple Outbound Calls daily to current Manufacturers in North America.
  • Ask Questions, Listen, and Verify Customer Information and Needs.
  • Educate the Customer on the benefits of Zeiss bundles Products and Services.
  • Provide Product Information as required.
  • Respond promptly to Customer Inquiries received directly via Phone, Email or forwarded by other Zeiss departments.
  • Document Customer, Contact, Machine & Software information in Database/CRM.
  • Cooperate with other Zeiss departments including Field Sales, Service, Deployment, Customer Care, Applications, Marketing, Billing and Collections, as required.
  • Fulfill assigned tasks & complete special projects as directed by the Business Manager.


  • 2-4 years’ experience in high volume Inside Sales with proactive customer contact.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Experience with Contact Management Software
  • Previous formal sales training desired.
