What You’ll Get to Do:
The Sponsor leverages the Linux Operating System as a fundamental component to thousands of hosts deployed across the enterprise. The Sponsor is developing, deploying, and operating deterministic configuration management tools to ensure compliance with security requirements and adapt to new mission requirements. This effort includes adopting automated techniques, incorporating new tools and technologies, and maintaining repositories with OS and application patches. These capabilities support the entire Sponsor enterprise and requires close coordination and partnership with all stakeholders.
More About the Role
The Contractor shall ensure updates to enterprise Linux baseline adhere to sponsor change management process and are properly tested prior to deployment.
The Contractor shall perform break/fix analysis of Linux related issues and aid sponsor stakeholders in Linux troubleshooting. The Contractor shall deploy OS and application patches across the sponsor enterprise.
The Contractor shall maintain Linux Servers within the sponsor enterprise including provisioning servers.
The Contractor shall update the enterprise Linux baseline to ensure compliance with FTE requirements.
The Contractor shall implement changes to the enterprise Linux baseline to support containerization framework.
The Contractor shall write/code customer scripts or programs using Python, Bash, C/C/++.
The Contractor shall integrate, test, and support mission applications using the enterprise Linux baseline.
The Contractor shall ensure the mission applications adhere to sponsor change management process.
The Contractor shall deploy OS and application patches across the mission application to ensure compliance with FTE requirements.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Demonstrated systems experience in activities such as security access analysis, design, load optimization, and implementation.
Demonstrated experience with Linux (RHEL, CENTOS, etc.).
Demonstrated experience with Database Administration.
Demonstrated experience with configuration management.
System monitoring experience (memory, processes) via Linux command line (using commands such as top and PS).
Demonstrated experience showing general troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify and integrate new tools and technologies within an enterprise environment
Demonstrated expertise in automating manual processes
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
Demonstrated programming experience in bash, ruby, or python.
Experience with computer-to-computer communications.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Certification and/or Linux Training.
Familiarization with VMWare and RAID Configuration.
Demonstrated understanding of authentication and authorization fundamentals within the Sponsor or Sponsors partners Network.
Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment (e.g., sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, work backlog, user stories, acceptance criteria, story clarifications).
Demonstrated expertise with Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited school.
