Description of Job Duties:

The primary purpose of this position is to directly supervise a staff of 10 Child Support Agent II positions within the Child Support Unit. This employee is responsible for personnel functions, conferences with staff, evaluations, training, monitoring employees’ hours worked and approving leave, making recommendations to Agency Director concerning disciplinary actions, and interviewing and making recommendations for hire for this staff. This employee is under the direct supervision of the Child Support Supervisor II.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school plus four and one-half years of experience in investigative, judiciary, eligibility, attorney's office or related work which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the work, including one year of IV-D experience; or
  • Four-year degree plus one and one-half years of work experience in the Child Support Enforcement Program; or
  • Associate of Arts Degree in business, human resources, law enforcement or closely related field and two and one-half years of experience in investigative, judiciary, eligibility, attorney's office or related work, including one year of IV-D experience.

Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s license and have access to a personal automobile. Must carry the minimum amount of insurance as required by Wayne County Policy.
