Responsible for handling and managing assigned legal matters, as well as executing on assigned initiatives and responsibilities related to employment and labor matters to support the organization’s goals and missions.
Exercises prudent discretion and decision-making capabilities to provide legal advice, direction and support regarding assigned employment law-related business and strategic risk-reduction programs, policies, process, controls and standards to internal business clients (e.g., Human Resources, Marketing, Corporate Risk Management, Business Technology, Finance, Compliance, Governance, Corporate Communications) on new initiatives, business processes, contract reviews and analysis, training, corrective actions, compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures, litigation risk and issues raised in governance committees.
Provides strategic legal advice to business partners, including necessary drafting and revision of written content and deployment of employment and labor law-related subject matters, training, policies, procedures, standards and handbooks.
Identifies, assesses, communicates information to business clients via ICAPs, LRADs and other means of communication related to changes in employment and labor laws, emerging regulatory topics and best practices, and provides oversight and strategic guidance on compliance with legal and other regulatory requirements related to employment and labor laws.
Communicates effectively with clients, customers, leadership, committees, regulators and counterparties as applicable. Manages assigned resources, including budgets related to outside counsel and other third party partners to achieve Law’s financial goals. Participates in the development of Law’s team development by communicating, fostering respect, providing coaching and feedback. Continuously improves and adheres to required standards and process to promote a risk-aware culture and ensure efficient and effective risk management of employment and labor law-related matters as assigned.
Partners with leadership team that manages the company’s Integrity Hotline (“HI”) program to oversee and provide day-to-day management of the IH program by receiving and reviewing all IH complaints, providing strategic advise on best practices to address all complaints, assigning complaints for investigations, tracking investigation progress, holding stakeholders accountable to agreed-upon timelines and record-creation requirements to support the IH program, as well as managing the record-keeping process to provide weekly and /or quarterly reports to the organization’s management on activities, progress, compliance, trends and legal risk mitigation efforts.
Manages assigned employment-related subpoena requests and manages the Employment Law Practices Insurance program by tracking and reporting on the status of regulatory charges, attorney or pro se plaintiff demand letters, litigation (e.g., dates, status, settlements and outside counsel costs).
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
J.D. in Law

6+ years of experience in Employment & Labor Law
JD, Active License to practice law
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization skills (balancing multiple projects/priorities).
Experienced with in-house business unit corporate culture.
