JOB SUMMARY
Properly answers the telephone according to practice protocol. Assist the patient with the selection of eyewear. Order patients eyewear products as requested from suppliers and the lab. Dispense and adjust eyewear. Maintain inventory control. Perform proper end of day patient, cash and insurance reconciliation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED with one year of experience as an optician required. ABO certification preferred. Must become ABO certified within two years of employment, if not previously certified. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required. Must be a team-player and have the ability to work under pressure. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential. Computer skills are essential. Must be sales oriented. An excellent knowledge of frames, lenses and optical supplies are required. Maintain a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education per calendar year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Properly answers the telephone by the third ring and routes calls accurately and efficiently
· Greets patients in a timely and friendly manner
· Provides routine cleaning and adjustment services for the patients entering the practice
· Educates the patient on optical options that are available within the practice
· Listens to the patient and assists the patient with the selection of eyewear
· Orders jobs from labs according to practice protocols
· Properly accounts and documents all incoming job and vendor orders
· Conducts a thorough inspection of all job orders
· Notifies patients when their order is ready in a timely manner
· Ensure surroundings and the optical board is clean and well-stocked at all times
· Complete all necessary paperwork to document sales and patient activities
· Ensure the highest level of customer service and patient satisfaction
· Properly completes all end of day processing for patients, cash and insurance reconciliation
· Processes incoming and outgoing daily deliveries from FedEx, UPS, etc.
· Maintain and properly document all patient records and product information
· Maintain and provide sales, tax and capture rate reports as requested by management
