The SEI Office of Transformation is currently in search of an Educational Technology Solution Architect (ETSA) to join these efforts.
The successful candidate will conceptualize, design, and build innovative technologies that lead to positive learner outcomes. They will apply technology that empowers faculty to integrate high-quality, efficient, and effective teaching practices, and they will utilize their teaching and software development experience to improve and build new compelling technologies.
Key contributor and co business-owner to the design and development of an online teaching platform that includes gamification strategies, automation, artificial intelligence, and outreach methods
Partners with SEI Ventures to evaluate new products and provide consulting services to new ed-tech startup companies
Thought leader and innovator in creating technology that enhances the online teaching experience
Uncovers new opportunities to increase student persistence by working closely with faculty and the SEI analytics team
Works closely with IT, Academics, Instructional Design, and the Learning Management System team to integrate new technology that influences positive change
Provides expertise on implementing new products into the LMS via LTI, SAML, or any other authentication method
Troubleshoots technical issues and provides detailed documentation to IT leads to implement software enhancements
Leads, coordinates and oversees multiple complex enterprise software projects, including initiation, planning, execution, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance
Deep understanding of pedagogical principles that are applied to learning solutions
Experience teaching online (synchronous and/or asynchronous), or teaching technology courses
Innovator that understands technology applications in the education space
Development experience utilizing one of the following languages:
Solid understanding of object oriented programming
Experience with Google Cloud Platform a plus
Expertise with xAPI or SCORM
Expertise with LTI
Expertise with ADA Guidelines
Experience reviewing code written by other developers and providing effective feedback
Knowledge or experience working within software development process, including business analysis, requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications
Knowledge of project management approaches and a range of software development processes
Ability to communicate effectively, define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions, and present information to a variety of stakeholders
Seeks out and synthesizes higher education trends into technology investments
Must have flexibility and ability to work in an agile context; must be able to pivot and adapt to evolving requirements
Advocate for change and innovation
2-4 years experience with front end or back end development
1-3 years experience in UX design
5+ years in the education domain
From an accredited institution; bachelor’s degree in computer science, instructional design & technology, or a related field
