We are seeking our Environmental Services Custodial Manager for Lincoln University, in the capital of Missouri - Jefferson City. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Custodial Manager will be a Hands-On Manager responsible for execution and delivery of work order flow, ensuring custodial standards and schedules are maintained, coaching and training our frontline staff to be our next generation of salaried managers, and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will:

Provide leadership and support for all shifts

Train employees and provide inspections with reporting on team success and challenges

Develop improvement plans for noted deficiencies

Understand proper use of all tools including, chemicals, floor care equipment

Order and maintain proper levels of supply and equipment. Departmental Fiscal Responsibility

Provide immediate response to client concerns

Provide a clean and safe environment for students, faculty, visitors, and staff

Effectively manage Sodexo’s SMS system and other Operating Systems, Building supply and inventory system - track consumables of custodial supplies

Be a Hands-On leader, manage by walking around

Have ability to work independently to drive program compliance for custodial department and motivate a diverse staff – by managing through shift supervisors

The ideal candidate will have:

Solid leadership skills - develop and motivate a team to exceed the expectations of client=partners and customers
- Technical execution of a housekeeping system

2 to 3 years previous custodial or housekeeping supervisory management experience preferably in a university or school environment

Ability to analyze data, present and effectively communicate to all levels within the organization

Position Summary:
Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.
- Provide leadership and direction to non-exempt employees
- Coordinate/conduct employee training
- Administer Human Resource processes (hiring, performance reviews, constructive counseling, prepare work schedules, payroll, etc.)
- Interact with outside vendors
- Ensure Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place and consistently met.
- Develop/implement action plans for improvement in compliance with Sodexo Operating Standards as identified.
- Reviews and maintains assigned areas of the Sodexo/Client budget commitments.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
