The generation analyst will be responsible for application development, maintenance and support for all applications in the Business Applications Management (BAM) portfolio, with a focus on OSISoft PI. Supported by the Business Applications Supervisor and mentored by the Principal Analyst, this team member will be a conduit to the off-shore application maintenance support team to manage and prioritize work while maintaining good working relationships with all Vistra technology teams and stakeholders. They will also be expected to execute application maintenance where deemed appropriate.
React to daily issues raised by plant personnel related to the PI ecosystem
Provide support and development/configuration for power plant applications, partnering with the business, vendors and 3 rd parties as applicable, utilizing Agile practices.
Implement projects to improve the productivity of assigned business areas.
Collaborate with the offshore application maintenance team along with the Principal Analyst.
Execute support remediation applications that cannot be handled offshore.
Lead efforts to gather work projections for projects and continuous improvement activities from the offshore team, providing training as needed.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities through independent and group work.
Provide project management oversight application upgrades.
Translate business requirements into technical/executable delivery units, serving as a liaison between business & technology teams to ensure that requirements are fully understood.
Develop relationships with other Vistra work teams to aide in problem solving, work execution, and licensing/procurement.
Update system of record with application details (architecture, licensing, users, etc.) as needed.
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited college/university (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 1-3+ years of technology related experience, required
Minimum of 2-3+ years of experience with industrial monitoring tools
Proven ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams
Ability and willingness to travel
Knowledge of and/or experience supporting and troubleshooting software products
Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel
Ability to learn new applications and IT processes
Ability to work effectively with IT, various vendors and business teams to develop solutions; Experience applying security patches in high availability applications
Availability of applications for our customers at or above 2018 levels.
Successful management of ServiceNow backlog
CMDB at 90% > accuracy for BAM apps
