This position is for a Senior Systems Engineer in the Rotary Wing Platform Systems Department responsible for development of aircraft system requirements, design, and test for the Special Operations Aviation (SOA) MH-60M/L Blackhawk, MH-47G Chinook and A/MH-6 Mission Enhanced Little Bird platforms. The Platform Systems Engineering team is the primary interface with the customer and is responsible for allocating requirements to the various subsystems (Displays, Flight Management Systems, Communications (COM), etc.) for development, then assembling the software components and testing the overall system. The selected applicant will work in a technologically advanced and challenging field supporting the development of new features and functionality across multiple rotary wing aircraft platforms.
Capturing and analyzing customer requirements and breaking them down into clear avionics system and subsystem requirements.
Performing avionics system design requiring coordination across multiple subsystem functional areas.
Supporting requirements-based testing in an avionics lab environment.
Collaborating with engineers across multiple subsystems (Displays, Flight Management Systems (FMS), Communications, etc.) and contribute toward a positive team working environment.
The selected candidate must be a self-starter, be able to multi-task, manage unplanned events, and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results that exceed expectations.
The candidate must be well organized and able to communicate effectively with engineering peers, leadership and customers. Excellent problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills are a must.
Some travel may be required.
US Citizenship is required.
The ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance is highly desired.
