The Research Analyst is a key member of the NBC Sports Group Strategic Insights team, creating actionable performance analysis to support a diverse set of client groups, including Consumer Marketing, Programming/Scheduling, Finance and Sales Planning.
Reporting and analysis responsibilities using both local and national Nielsen audience data across the Sports Television landscape, including coverage for weekend events
Collect, analyze and interpret both Nielsen and Digital data for recurring reports as well as ad hoc requests, highlighting the performance of NBC Sports Group and competitive sports networks
Bring a fresh perspective to departmental daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting, helping to position analysis in a creative and concise manner
Assist in the maintenance and updating of NBCSN’s programming schedules in the Nielsen MyEVNTS tool
Help provide insights on identifying the audience and analyzing their viewing behaviors
Proactively contribute to analysis and creation of ongoing departmental projects and presentations while collaborating with peers to ensure uniformity of departmental reporting standards
Collaborate with cross-functional team members in the evaluation of new technology and systems to help modernize and streamline workflow
Additional duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Media, Communications, Statistics or related field
Minimum one (1) year experience in TV or Media Research
Prior experience with Nielsen systems (NPower, NNTV)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
Strong attention to detail and expertise in Media Math
Ability to analyze and summarize data, and to communicate findings clearly and concisely
